Date Confirmed For Ausmusic T-Shirt Day 2021

169

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is back for another year, the music industry charity, Support Act, has confirmed. This year’s day of music industry celebration, advocacy and fundraising will take place on Friday, 19th November.

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is supported by ARIA, Triple J and Double J. In essence, it’s an opportunity for fans and industry personnel to celebrate Australian music. However, it’s also an important fundraising initiative for Support Act, who’ve been helping music workers navigate the crisis conditions brought about by COVID-19.

This year’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day ambassadors include Jessica Mauboy, Jon Stevens, 5 Seconds of Summer, Amy Shark, Lime Cordiale and Neil Finn (does this mean Crowded House are an Australian band?)

While many in the music industry have been put out of work, Support Act have been busier than ever over the last 20 months. They’ve already given out 10,000 crisis relief grants to music and live performing arts workers in need, as well as offering mental health and wellbeing support to many thousands more. However, with restrictions still in place and the future unclear, more support is needed.

Mo’Ju, Myf Warhurst, Ngaiire, Peking Duk, Rob Mills, The Amity Affliction, The OG Wiggles and The Teskey Brothers are also throwing their support behind Ausmusic T-Shirt Day 2021.

So how do you get involved? First, grab yourself an Ausmusic T-shirt. Then get some of your friends, family or workmates together to create a fundraising team. And/or simply donate to Support Act.

On Friday, 19th November, post a pic of yourself wearing your fave Ausmusic T-shirt to your social media channels using the hashtag #ausmusictshirtday and tagging Support Act, triple j and ARIA.
