Garcia Peoples will issue a new studio album entitled Dodging Dues through No Quarter on January 14. Today, the psych-rock sextet unveiled three tracks — “Cold Dice,” “Tough Freaks” and “Stray Cats” — from the follow-up to 2020’s Nightcap At Wit’s End.
Founded by guitarist/vocalists Tom Malach and Danny Arakaki, the current lineup is rounded out by drummer/percussionist Cesar Arakaki, bassist/vocalist Andy Cush, keyboardist/vocalist Pat Gubler and guitarist Derek Spaldo. Garcia Peoples recorded the seven-track Dodging Dues with producer Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Superwolves) during sessions held at Brooklyn’s Strange Weather in February and October 2020. Sweeney added guitar and backing vocals to the album while Dan Ilead contributed pedal steel.
