Greensky Bluegrass Welcomes Sam Bush & Lindsay Lou At The Ryman

96

Greensky Bluegrass brought out Sam Bush and Lindsay Lou during their concert last night at Nashville’s The Ryman Auditorium. The guest-filled show featured first time GSBG performances of several covers.

Dressed in retro-country outfits, Greensky Bluegrass opened the first set with “Run Or Die,” followed by “Wish I Didn’t Know.” Lindsay Lou then made her first appearance of the night, dressed in a costume resembling Dolly Parton, accompanying the band on their debut covers of “Fishing In The Dark” by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and “Drinking Too Much” by Sam Hunt. The first set continued with “What You Need,” “Monument,” “Bone Digger” and “A Letter to Seymour.” Lou came back for “In Control” and exited again ahead of the set-closing “All For Money.”

Sam Bush added fiddle for the entire second set and encore, kicking off the collaboration with GSBG’s debut cover of Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee.” After “My Rose Of Old Kentucky,” Lou came out for “Lose My Way” and teamed with mandolinist Paul Hoffman on the Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton classic “Islands In The Stream.” Bush and the band then dug into “Broke Mountain Breakdown,” “Old Barns” and “Cryin’ Holy Unto The Lord (Rock Where Moses Stood),” ahead of Greensky’s debut cover of Leon Russell’s “One More Love Song.” The set drew to a close with “Leap Year.”

Lou joined Bush and Greensky Bluegrass for the evening’s encore that saw Hoffman sporting a wireless microphone a la Garth Brooks as he roamed the Ryman stage while leading a cover of the 1990s country hit maker’s “The Thunder Rolls.” Greensky Bluegrass returns to The Ryman for another show tonight with Lou again supporting.
