Today, guitarist John Mayer released the slow and groovy “Last Train Home (Ballad Version)” as well as a video for the track. The original “Last Train Home” appears on and is the lead single for Mayer’s Sob Rock album. John issued Sob Rock this past July.
“Last Train Home (Ballad Version)” was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, where the video was filmed. Mayer is backed by Lenny Castro, Greg Phillinganes, Sean Hurley, Aaron Sterling and David Ryan Harris on the tender and throbbing rendition filled with fiery blues licks galore.
