Today, Marco Benevento released the new single “At The End Or The Beginning” via his Royal Potato Family label. The keyboardist/vocalist wrote the LCD Soundsystem-esque song with San Diego-based poet/lyricist Alfred Howard.
Benevento is putting “the finishing touches on a new studio album” as per a press release heralding his latest single. Marco’s last album, the Leon Michaels produced Let It Slide, arrived in 2019. Additionally, a “few more singles [are] comin’ out next year” he revealed on Instagram.
“Where are we? At the end or the beginning? It’s been a strange few years not being able to hug our close friends or play shows and to see so many people struggling from this pandemic that came out of nowhere,” noted Benevento. “So the idea was inspired by what we’ve all been living through. The lyric says it all, we can’t wait for the clouds to lift up for us…this one time.”
Marco recorded “At The End Or The Beginning” at his home studio. Benevento played all instruments on the track.
