Turkuaz will head back to New York, NY later this month for two shows at storied East Village venue Webster Hall. The Halloween weekend homecoming run will take place on October 29th and 30th with support from party-starting L.A.-based quintet Thumpasaurus [get tickets].

While the band recently trimmed down its fall tour schedule, Turkuaz couldn’t miss an opportunity to return to New York, where the band spent years honing its sound before launching a decorated national touring career.

After forming through the Berklee College of Music scene in 2008, Turkuaz moved to New York City, a town the band would call home for years to come. Led by frontman Dave Brandwein, Turkuaz went from playing some of the smallest venues in the city, like the Bowery Poetry Club, up through the Mercury Lounge and all the way to venues like Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn Steel, and now Webster Hall.

With Thumpasaurus in tow, the hometown crowd can expect the same everlasting grooves, eclectic harmonies, and larger-than-life performances that Brandwein, Taylor Shell (bass), Craig Brodhead (guitar/keys), Michelangelo Carubba (drums), Chris Brouwers (trumpet/keys), Greg Sanderson (tenor sax), Josh Schwartz (baritone sax/vocals), Sammi Garett (vocals), and Shira Elias (vocals) have graced NYC with for for a decade.

“We’re ready to be back … and bringing that energy that only live (and loud) music brings to us and our fans alike,” said Brandwein in a statement.

Tickets to the Turkuaz hometown throw-down Halloween run at NYC’s Webster Hall are on sale now. Head here for ticketing details and more information.

Turkuaz has been turning (talking) heads throughout this summer with the long-awaited running of the band’s Remain In Light tribute featuring Adrian Belew and and Jerry Harrison, both of whom can be heard on the original 1980 album. In addition to a number of amphitheater plays, Turkuaz has brought the tribute to various major festivals throughout the year including The Peach Music Festival and FloydFest.

While the Webster Hall shows will not be of the Talking Heads variety, the band has been known to pull out some surprises in celebration of Halloween. Back in 2019, the band united around a “hockey” costume theme that came to a boil with Elias and Garett dropping their gloves and throwing blows onstage.
