Wilco and Young Fresh Fellows covered The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” on Wednesday night in Seattle. The collaboration took place during the encore of the second show of a two-night stand at the Paramount Theatre.
Wednesday’s concert in Seattle concluded Young Fresh Fellows’ recent run opening for Wilco. The band’s membership includes frequent Wilco collaborator Scott McCaughey. Wilco took the Paramount stage and delivered a career-spanning headlining performance, presenting a setlist that pulled from nine of the band’s albums, including four songs from their most recent release, 2019’s Ode To Joy.
The encore began with Wilco playing “I’m A Wheel” from 2004’s A Ghost Is Born. Jeff Tweedy and the rest of Wilco then brought out the Young Fresh Fellows to join the band on “Helter Skelter” with McCaughey singing lead on the White Album classic.
