Today, Amanda Shires shared “Home To Me,” the second single from her forthcoming holiday album. For Christmas arrives via Silver Knife/Thirty Tigers next Friday, November 12.

The Nashville-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist tracked nine originals and two covers for inclusion on For Christmas, as Shires took on the Christmas carol “Silent Night” and Frank Loesser’s “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Amanda is accompanied on the LP by keyboardist Peter Levin (Gregg Allman), drummer Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams), guitarist Pat Buchanan (Dolly Parton, The Chicks) and her 400 Unit bandmate Jimbo Hart on bass. Additionally, Lawrence Rothman contributed to “Always Christmas Around Here” and The McCrary Sisters appear on four songs.

The tender ballad “Home To Me” showcases Amanda’s beautiful voice.”Lyrically the song captures longing for a lost love, and the intensity those feelings can bring around the holidays,” as per a press release. Shires tapped Joshua Black Wilkins to film the “Home To Me” video in and around her Nashville home. Amanda and Deren Ney contributed additional production with Ney editing the clip.
