Dave Matthews Band Debuts New Song & Busts Out ‘Broken Things’ In Columbus

120

Dave Matthews Band resumed their 2021 Tour in Columbus, Ohio on Friday. DMB offered up a new song, “Madman’s Eyes,” and busted out “Broken Things” at Nationwide Arena.

Dave Matthews Band kicked things off with “Granny” followed by a pairing of “Dancing Nancies” and “Warehouse.” Dave then took a moment to address the audience before the band busted out “Broken Things.” DMB last played the Away From The World (2012) track on July 24, 2013, as per DMB Almanac. The set continued with “Sweet,” “So Right” and “Pig” ahead of “Dive In.” The latter saw its first full band excursion in Columbus since July 9, 2016.

Next up came “When The World Ends” ahead of the debut of “Madman’s Eyes.” The song began with a horn solo before Dave took over on vocals and guitar with the rest of the band coming in behind him as he led the group through the new tune. “#41” followed with the classic Bela Fleck “Sojourn of Arjuna” segment. “She,” “Grey Street” and “Lover Lay Down” came next ahead of a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer.”

DMB then delivered “So Much To Say” and segued into “Too Much” via “Anyone Seen The Bridge” which featured an “Also Sprach Zarathustra” tease. The band closed out the set with “You Might Die Trying.” Dave Matthews Band returned to the stage to begin the encore with “The Space Between” followed by “Don’t Drink The Water” to close out the evening.
