Goose Dusts Off ‘Sco-Mule’ Cover In Oklahoma City

Goose Fall Tour 2021 picked back up on Tuesday at Oklahoma City’s Tower Theatre. The Connecticut-based quintet worked a rare cover of Gov’t Mule’s “Sco-Mule,” a Warren Haynes-penned song inspired by guitarist John Scofield, into last night’s first set.

The band took “Time To Flee” deep for what JiveGoose reports as a 30-minute version to kick off last night’s show. “Time To Flee” was unfinished as it bled into a cover of Bob Marley’s “Caution,” which was last played on October 2, 2020. Next came Goose’s first “Sco-Mule” since November 27, 2019.

Goose continued with an adventurous “A Western Sun” that gave away to the end of “Time To Flee” before the band capped the set with “Elizabeth.” Last night’s second set got underway with “So Ready” from the band’s recently released Shenanigans Nite Club album. “So Ready” was followed by the beloved “Wysteria Lane” making for a 30-minute segment to open the frame. Goose jammed “Wysteria” into Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” from the British band’s In Rainbows LP.

An expansive “Madhuvan” came next along with two-year-old original “Honeybee.” Goose then returned to Shenanigans Nite Club for “Spirit Of The Dark Horse” before “Dragonfly” concluded the set. Last night’s concert ended with an encore featuring Goose’s cover of the Bobby “Blue” Bland classic “Turn On Your Love Light.” Goose plays The Truman KC in Kansas City tonight.
