The tour will finally wrap up on February 25th and 26th with a two-night run at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA.
As the band noted on social media, “These are going to be some incredibly special shows in some of our favorite rooms across the Eastern U.S. and we can’t wait to see each and every one of you!”
A lottery for a limited amount of pre-sale tickets for the tour is now open here. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, November 5th via the Greensky Bluegrass website.
The tour comes in support of Greensky’s forthcoming eighth studio album, Stress Dreams, due to arrive on January 21st via Thirty Tigers. The new album will mark the first full-length Greensky Bluegrass studio effort since 2019’s All For Money.
When touring ceased in 2020 in the face of the pandemic, the band hunkered down and compiled demos from their respective lockdowns, sharing emails and voice notes. In July 2020, Anders Beck (dobro guitar/vocals), Paul Hoffman (mandolin/vocals), Dave Bruzza (guitar/vocals), Mike Devol (upright bass/vocals), and Michael Arlen Bont (banjo) got together for the first time in four months, dedicating rehearsals to the development of the new material. Once circumstances safely permitted, they recorded what would become Stress Dreams during a session in Guilford, VT and two sessions in Asheville, NC with frequent collaborator “and old friend” Dominic John Davis as producer and “wizard engineer” Glenn Brown mixing.
“Greensky is and always has been very unique in our world,” says Hoffman. “We put our love, energy, and focus into what we appreciate about our music. We come together as a band in a way that’s organic. We take a lot of pride in how we grow and challenge each other too. We’re maturing together. I think we get more Greensky all of the time.” Listen to the album’s first single, “Monument”, here.
The Infamous Stringdusters also have an album on the way. Toward The Fray, the group’s latest LP, is due to arrive on February 18th via Regime Music Group. Listen to the album’s title track here.
