Greensky Bluegrass celebrated Halloween on Saturday (October 30) with the second of two guest-filled concerts at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Once again sporting retro country costumes, the show featured Vince Herman, Lindsay Lou, Jason Carter, Rachael Davis and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes joining the action at various points throughout the night.

GSBG wasted little time treating The Ryman audience to new material, kicking off the first set with a debut cover of Glen Campbell’s country hit “Rhinestone Cowboy.” The opening cover debut transitioned into “Windshield,” which was followed by “Grow Together.”

The first guests then arrived onstage as Lindsay Lou and Rachael Davis emerged to add vocals to Greensky’s first live offering of Loretta Lynn’s “The Devil Gets His Dues.” The pair stuck around to join the band on their first performance of George Jones’ “The Race Is On.” Lou and Davis also added vocals to a subsequent rendition of “Forget Everything.” After the guests exited, GSBG finished the first set with “Absence of Reason,” “Murder of Crows” and “Worried About the Weather.”

Greensky Bluegrass came back from set break with Del McCoury Band‘s Jason Carter adding his fiddle to the mix. The second half started with “Fixin’ To Ruin,” followed by GSBG’s debut performance of Willie Nelson’s outlaw country favorite “Whiskey River.” With Carter still onstage, the band worked up “Burn Them,” along with their debut offering of Graham Parsons’ “Still Feeling Blue.” There was then double fiddle action as Keith-Hynes came out for “Demons.” Greensky and Carter then lit up “Kerosene.”

Leftover Salmon guitarist Vince Herman was next to emerge, looking the part while leading the collective through the first GSBG take on Waylon Jennings’ “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way.” The guest players left for a subsequent “Past My Prime” before Lou and Davis were brought out once more for a final cover debut that came in the form of Merle Haggard’s heartfelt “Sing Me Back Home.” The second set drew to a close with a guest-free “Living Over.” The five members of GSBG capped their Halloween celebration with an encore pairing of “Before Bring Out Your Dead” into “Bring Out Your Dead.”
