Jackson Browne and Jorma Kaukonen headline the all-star lineup for “The Capitol Sessions: Songs from a Rock Palace That Impacted the World,” a concert benefiting non-partisan voter registration advocacy organization HeadCount. “The Capitol Sessions” will be held at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Friday, December 17
Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Amy Helm, Adam Minkoff, Connor Kennedy, Eric Krasno and Grahame Lesh are additional “The Capitol Sessions” performers. The lineup is rounded out by James Casey, Karina Rykman, Lisa Fischer, Marco Benevento, Tony Leone and The War & Treaty. Larry Campbell will serve as the evening’s musical director and curator.
Look for participating artists to play songs from The Cap’s early days when acts like Janis Joplin, Traffic, The Rolling Stones, Mountain, Grateful Dead and Bonnie Raitt performed at the venue. “The Capitol Theatre is one of rock ‘n’ roll’s last remaining rock palaces,” said Dayglo Presents founder and The Capitol Theatre’s Peter Shapiro, who is also on the board for HeadCount. “A place where many of rock’s most beloved legends performed — the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, to name a few. We can’t wait to celebrate the iconic songs that have been played over the years at The Cap. It will be very cool for The Capitol Sessions to happen on the same stage where these songs were originally performed.”
Dayglo Presents is organizing the concert with Greg Williamson and Nicole Rechter’s RWE company. Tickets for “The Capitol Sessions” go on sale this Friday, November 19 at 12 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
