Khruangbin will make their Austin City Limits debut as part of an episode airing on PBS this Saturday, November 6. JamBase is pleased to premiere exclusive video footage featuring the trio’s live “White Gloves” performance at Austin’s The Moody Theater.
The Houston-born trio consists of bassist Laura Lee, drummer Donald “DJ” Johnson and guitarist Mark Speer. Khruangbin’s ACL appearance, which is also their national television debut, will include selections from all three of the group’s studio albums: 2015’s The Universe Smiles Upon You, 2018’s Con Todo el Mundo and 2020’s Mordechai. “White Gloves” is featured on The Universe Smiles Upon You, Khruangbin’s debut LP.
Fellow Texan Leon Bridges shares this weekend’s Austin City Limits episode. Khruangbin joined forces with Leon Bridges for the collaborative 2020 EP Texas Sun. Bridges’ second ACL appearance was filmed live at The Moody Theater on September 14, one day after Khruangbin’s taping at the program’s home base.
