Mapache released a take on Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” from their forthcoming 3 covers EP. 3 is due out via Innovative Leisure next Friday, November 19.
The duo — which consists of Sam Blasucci and Clay Finch — recorded the eight-track collection with long-time collaborator and Grateful Shred bandmate Dan Horne producing. Horne also helmed Mapache’s 2020 LP, From Liberty Street. Blasucci and Finch interpreted such songs as Sade’s “All About Our Love,” the Louvin Brothers’ “On My Way To The Show” and Allah-Las “Worship The Sun” for 3.
Mapache went the instrumental route for “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life.” Wonder’s original was released on the legendary musician’s iconic 1973 studio album Talking Book.
