Travis Barker hosted a special Halloween-themed event on Friday, House of Horrors, where a myriad of friends including Avril Levigne, Machine Gun Kelly, and his longtime Blink-182 bandmate, Mark Hoppus, joined him for a pay-per-view, live stream performance.
If a night full of collaborations with longtime friends and colleagues wasn’t enough, Friday night’s festivities marked the first time Hoppus had performed live since battling with stage-four lymphoma earlier this year. Back in September Hoppus took to Instagram, announcing that he was officially cancer-free. He joined Barker and musician Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft exactly one month later for this House of Horrors performance, which saw the trio play three songs from the Blink-182 catalog.

Dressed as Batman, Hoppus first led Barker and Thrasher through “What’s My Age Again?”, one of the most popular Blink songs from 1999’s Enema of the State. Sticking with the hits, Hoppus and crew went with “The Rock Show” next, another popular song from 2001’s Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. Finally, Hoppus, Barker, and Gruft closed with “Family Reunion”, which was released in 1999 as a promotional single for Enema of the State. The short, sub-one-minute track is essentially a sung-through version of George Carlin‘s seven dirty words routine, complete with an uptempo, quickly-picked bassline.
Despite going months without even picking up his bass guitar, Hoppus didn’t miss a beat during the short performance. He and Barker moved in lockstep from the very first notes, and Thrasher more than held his own as the Tom DeLonge/Matt Skiba stand-in.
