The String Cheese Incident dug deep into their repertoire on Saturday to close out a three-night Thanksgiving weekend run at Denver’s Mission Ballroom. Originals “Bigger Isn’t Better” and “Resume Man” as well as a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” each made the setlist on Saturday for their first plays in over four years.

Guitarist Bill Nershi led the band through “Bigger Isn’t Better” for the first time since March 15, 2017 as per Phantasy Tour to get Saturday’s concert underway. Next, Cheese worked “Little Hands” into a jam featuring elements of “Elvis’ Wild Ride,” another song last played in 2017, which bled into the year’s first “Pirates.” Another rarity followed as The String Cheese Incident dusted off bassist Keith Moseley‘s “Resume Man” which was last performed on July 23, 2017 at nearby Red Rocks.
The sextet wasn’t done with rare material yet as “Climb” saw action for the first time since November 8, 2019. An expansive “100 Year Flood” came next and eventually gave way to “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” The Allman Brothers Band cover was debuted by The String Cheese Incident on April 21, 2002 and had only been performed again on August 12, 2016 and July 7, 2017 until Saturday’s show. “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” was followed by the first version of Nershi’s “Big Shoes” since October 5, 2019. A “Drums” sequence connected “Big Shoes” and the set-closing “San Jose.” The latter had been shelved for over two years.
Saturday’s second set began with the pairing of “Way Back Home” and “Rivertrance.” Next up were classics “Miss Brown’s Teahouse” and “Galactic.” Cheese hadn’t played “Galactic” since their 2019 Thanksgiving weekend run at Mission Ballroom. A night filled with oldies was broken up by “Into The Blue,” a three-year-old original. SCI capped the frame with “Sirens” and “Let’s Go Outside.” The six-piece ended the night and run with a “Restless Wind” encore.
