The Mandalorian spinoff The Book of Boba Fett is some pure Star Wars universe desert planet fun, based on our first look at the series in the new trailer below. The original actor, Temuera Morrison, who played Boba in the prequels, is back in the distinctive helmet, and this time, it looks like he’s the boss, not a bounty hunter.
Whether he’s still a bounty hunter or not, Boba Fett clearly remains part of the galaxy’s underworld, just as the video’s caption says on Youtube. But Morrison’s calm, cool delivery definitely serves up some menace as he says lines like “Jabba ruled with fear. I intend to rule with respect.”
Produced by Lucasfilm, The Book of Boba Fett first showed up as a teaser after The Mandalorian Season 2 finale credits. It is, however, a separate show from Mandalorian, according to that show’s creator, Jon Favreau.
The Book of Boba Fett stars Morrison and Ming-Na Wen as his second in command of the old Hutt crime syndicate. It’ll probably be perfect holiday viewing for devoted Star Wars fans, which is appropriate since it begins streaming on Disney+ December 29.
