Watch Paul McCartney & Foo Fighters Perform ‘Get Back’ At Rock Hall Induction

Foo Fighters joined the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this weekend after being inducted by The Beatles legend Paul McCartney. The 36th annual Induction Ceremony was held Saturday (October 30) at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse and saw McCartney and Foo Fighters collaborate on The Beatles classic “Get Back.”

“I didn’t say it in my speech but listen, I never took lessons to learn how to play music,” Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told the audience while introducing McCartney. “You know what I had? I had a Beatles songbook, a Beatles record and a record player. So everything I’ve learned about rock ‘n’ roll was from this man right here. He’s my music teacher right there. That’s him.”

McCartney, who entered the Rock Hall with The Beatles in 1988 and again as a solo artist in 1999, had previously performed with the surviving members of fellow Rock Hall members Nirvana, whose membership included Grohl and Foos guitarist Pat Smear (though Smear was not part of the Rock Hall induction). In addition to Foo Fighters, Saturday’s ceremony in Cleveland saw the inductions of Tina Turner, Carole King, The Go-Go’s, JAY-Z and Todd Rundgren in the Performer category, along with Kraftwerk, Charley Patton and Gil Scott-Heron for Early Influence, LL Cool J, Randy Rhoads and Billy Preston (who performed with The Beatles on “Get Back”) for Musical Excellence, and Clarence Avant for the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The 2021 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony premieres November 20 on HBO and HBO Max. Watch footage of Paul McCartney and Foo Fighters performing “Get Back” below:
