Dopapod Cancels New Year’s Run 2021 Due To COVID-19

Dopapod canceled their upcoming three-night New Year’s run of concerts in Texas following the “outcome of a positive COVID rapid test within our circle, along with the lack of in-person PCR tests available right now.” The quartet was slated to start the year-ending run in Houston on December 29, continue in Austin on December 30 and ring in 2022 on December 31 (New Year’s Eve) in Dallas.

“It is our priority to put the health and safety of the band & crew, venue personnel and you our fans ahead of all else at this time,” explained Dopapod in a social media post announcing the decision. The shows in Texas were supposed to be longtime LD Luke Stratton’s last with the band.

Dopapod referenced Stratton’s departure with a meme to bring a light-hearted mood to their announcement. Check it out below:
