Motörhead road crew members immortalized late frontman Lemmy Kilmister in their dermis this week, mixing ink with his ashes for two tribute tattoos.

A new video posted to the official Motörhead YouTube page depicted tour manager Eddie Rocha and production assistant Emma Cederblad receiving the tribute art on their lower leg in celebration of Lemmy’s six-year death anniversary. With “God Was Never on Your Side” from the band’s 2006 album Kiss of Death playing in the background, artist Stina Nyman of Sweden’s Eye Scream Tattoo pulled the ashes from bullet urns sent to Lemmy’s closest friends.

After mixing the black ink with ashes, Nyman got to work on the tattoos. Rocha received an eye-popping, true-to-life portrait of Kilmister, while Cedeblad commemorated the band’s most popular song, “Ace of Spades”, which appeared on the group’s 1980 album of the same name.

While it has been just over six years since Lemmy passed, Motörhead continues to pay tribute to its bassist/vocalist/bandleader. Back on April 23rd, the band released the Louder Than Noise… Live In Berlin concert film, documenting the group’s December 5th, 2012 performance at the Velodrom in Berlin, Germany. News then came in July of a forthcoming, Greg Olliver-directed biopic that the band’s manager Todd Singerman would executive produce. Head to the band’s website for the latest news on all upcoming Motörhead projects.
