Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will put on its two-night New Year’s Eve run in Asheville, NC as planned, the band confirmed on Tuesday. In addition to playing shows at The Orange Peel (12/30) and the ExploreAsheville.com Arena (12/31), the band will offer free livestreams of both nights.

The New Year’s run, billed as Arena 54 NYE, will see the high-flying quartet combine elements of disco music with extra-terrestrial themes. This will mark Pigeons’ return to the Western North Carolina music haven after pulling off an Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test at the downtown arena for New Year’s 2019.

For those planning to attend, proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the shows is required. Free, on-site testing will be available outside the ExploreAsheville.com arena ahead of the Friday show. Masks are required once inside the venue, regardless of vaccination status. The band also strongly recommends everyone get tested prior to the shows.
