Bonfire Entertainment, WinterWonderGrass, and Adrift Dinosaur have announced the 2022 RiverWonderGrass schedule. RiverWonderGrass will return to Dinosaur National Monument on the Utah-Colorado border for its third year, holding ten multi-day, overnight music expeditions beginning on May 22nd through September 11th.
This year’s RWG will feature two, five-day excursions on the Yampa River and eight, four-day events at The Gates of Lodore. These expeditions will feature artists from the WinterWonderGrass community guiding ticketholders on jam-packed adventures through the rivers, canyons, and caves where Colorado and Utah meet.
The five-day excursions will feature Pixie & The Partygrass Boys (5/22) and Cris Jacobs & Friends (6/11), while the four-day events will see musical guests The Sweet Lillies (6/22); Pickin’ on the Dead led by Tyler Grant (7/1); Lindsay Lou, Tyler Grant, and special guests (7/11); RiverWonderWomen led by Britt Stoughton, Lindsay Lou, Mimi Jaja, and special guest Steph Winsor (7/16); Adam Greuel (Horseshoes & Hand Grenades) & special guests (7/28); Kitchen Dwellers (8/1); Trout Steak Revival (8/26); and Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson, Kellen Asebroek, and Mimi Naja (9/8).
“When the music industry shut down, we pivoted to a place that welcomed and inspired us, the remote canyon country,” said founder Scotty Stoughton in a press release. “These 20-person expeditions take you deep into the backcountry, with no cell service or digital interference, just clean water, empty beaches, waterfalls, lush hikes, homemade food and sweet music. Not only do the artists perform each evening around the fire, they pop up with fresh coffee in the mornings, and along the river. These journeys deliver you back to yourself!”
Lindsay Lou added, “Last year, the back-to-back river trips completely transformed my perspective in a positive way. I’m looking forward to singing in the river canyon again and listening to the river sing to me.”
