Hundreds of homes were destroyed on Thursday as wind-propelled wildfires rapidly swept across several areas in Boulder County, CO. Among the houses lost in the fire was the home of The Motet founder and drummer Dave Watts, a longtime staple in the Colorado music community.
Watts’ home in the Sagamore neighborhood of Superior, CO, where he lives with his partner, Danielle Gregory, his teenage son, Milo, and another roommate, Tori Michael, was overtaken by the fast-moving wildfires on Thursday afternoon.
While none of the residents were home at the time of the fires, three pets—a one-year-old female yorkie puppy, Aria; a ten-year-old male yorkie puppy, Tracey; and a Hinayana cat, Luke—were inside the house when it burned down.
According to the pets’ owners, the back door of the house was unlocked, so it is possible that someone was able to help them escape. If you have any leads on the whereabouts of the missing pets, please contact [email protected].
The local community has quickly taken action to support Watts and company in the wake of the devastating fire. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to aid in covering costs and damages, while friends are organizing a donation drive to help them in the days to come.
