Jack White delivers an emotional assessment of relationships on his latest Entering Heaven Alive single, “Love Is Selfish”. The song follows “Taking Me Back (Gently)” as the second single from the album due out on July 22nd via Third Man Records.
One of his most delicate songs, “Love Is Selfish” arrives with nothing more than a lightly-plucked acoustic guitar, the occasional wash of a cymbal, and White’s weary contemplation. This self-directed music video captures him at a local American Legion location, performing to an empty hall while donning his finest western wear. The lonesome and saturnine multi-instrumentalist sits at a vacant bar and wanders the empty halls while likening love to owning a sailboat without knowing how to sail, or riding upon a train that refuses to stay on the rails.
