Mdou Moctar announced 2022 North American Winter Tour dates. The band led by Niger-based Tuareg singer-songwriter and guitarist Mahamadou “Mdou Moctar” Souleymane added headlining concerts to their previously announced Winter 2022 itinerary with Parquet Courts.
Mdou Moctar’s newly announced dates around their critically acclaimed 2021 album, Afrique Victime, get underway in Providence, Rhode Island on February 24 followed by an engagement in Charlottesville, Virginia on February 26. Mdou Moctar then links up with Parquet Courts beginning on February 27 in Asheville, North Carolina.
March will see the groups hitting Atlanta, Nashville, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and Toronto among other stops with Mdou Moctar’s time with Parquet Couts wrapping on on March 18 in Montreal. The band then returns to headlining with two Vermont concerts in Lyndon and Burlington on March 19 and 20 respectively. Next, the quartet heads south with shows in Woodstock, New York, Washington D.C. and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mdou Moctar warps up the North American run with a slot at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 25.
