Valerie June released an acoustic version of “Within You.” The single comes in anticipation of the deluxe edition of the singer-songwriter’s 2021 album, The Moon & Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers, due out later this month.
June released her breakout Jack Splash-produced LP The Moon & Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers in March and the album’s single, “Call Me A Fool,” recently garnered Valerie her first Grammy nomination. June began rolling out acoustic versions of Prescriptions For Dreamers tracks in October beginning with “Why The Bright Stars Glow” featuring Mavis Staples and followed with a stripped-down rendition of “You And I” in December.
The new single, “Within You” (Moon and Stars / Acoustic) features June’s prowess on a number of earthy instruments including banjo, fiddle, upright bass and acoustic guitar “‘Within You’ is a song prescribed for Creativity, Believe, and Sacred Space,” Valerie shared in a press release. “There is the potential to create more beauty and peace within every person.”
