Friday’s concert at Grass Valley’s Center For The Arts saw ALO dust off “Freedom Freeze Dance” for the first time in “decades” according to guitarist Lebo (Dan Lebowitz). Allen was the group’s special guest for both “Not Old Yet,” a “Possibly Drown” that incorporated “Freedom Freeze Dance” and the fan favorite “Plastic Bubble.” Moss augmented ALO on Sly & The Family Stone’s “If You Want Me To Stay.”

ALO delivered a two-set affair at the Crystal Bay Casino on Saturday featuring a career-spanning setlist. Anna Moss and Erin Chapin fronted the group on covers of Dusty Springfield’s “Son Of A Preacher Man” and “Surfer Girl” by The Beach Boys.

The four-piece went back to the one-set format at the Chico Women’s Club on Sunday. ALO debuted the new original “From Where We Are” as part of a show dedicated to longtime friend Steve Schuman. Steve, who recently passed away, promoted some of the group’s first concerts in Chico and was a beloved member of the High Sierra community.

Mandolinist Kyle Ledson joined ALO for “The Rain” and “Try,” which was followed by a cover of The Pretenders’ “Brass In Pocket” featuring Anna Moss on lead vocals. The night and weekend ended with Ledson and Moss teaming with ALO for “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

ALO’s next Tour d’Amour XV concerts come at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall this Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26. Watch Anna Moss and Kyle Ledson perform “What A Wonderful World” with ALO below:
