alt-J unveiled “The Actor,” the last advance single from their forthcoming The Dream studio album. The Dream arrives via Canvasback / Infectious Music this Friday, February 11.
The English band consisting of Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green previously released three studio albums: 2012’s An Awesome Wave, 2014’s This Is All Yours and 2017’s Relaxer. alt-J tapped Charlie Andrew to produce the 12-track LP The Dream. The group will support The Dream by teaming with Portugal. The Man for an extensive co-headlining tour of North America that begins in Pittsburgh on February 25.
“Hollywood, 1982. Another hopeful young movie star arrives in search of The Dream,” stated the band regarding the inspiration behind their latest single. “What follows is a tale of desperation, drugs and death in LA’s most famous hotel. It’s ‘The Actor’.”
