Dave & Tim Offer Rarities At Riviera Maya Event

118

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds kicked off their three-night destination run at the Moon Palace on the Riviera Maya in Cancún, Mexico on Friday. Dave and Tim debuted two songs in the duo format and busted out another tune for the first time since 2005.

The guitarists launched the concert with one of those rarities, “Good Good Time,” played for the first time in full by Dave and Tim and last time played by DMB on August 29, 2014 at The Gorge on the DMB Caravan Tour that year, as per DMB Almanac. Classics “Bartender,” “Grey Street” and “Grace Is Gone” followed ahead of the second notable appearance of the evening, “Too High.” Also a first for D&T, Matthews last performed the Some Devil solo cut with Dave & Friends on February 5, 2006 during another tropical excursion, Dave and Friends Caribbean Cruise Getaway.

After “Oh,” the guitarists dusted off “Up And Away.” The Riviera Maya 2022 version marked the second time Dave and Tim played the song since debuting it on October 28, 2005 at the Vegoose Festival. Dave and Tim filled the rest of the set with classic favorties like “The Stone,” “#41,” “Jimi Thing,” “Tripping Billies,” “The Best Of What’s Around” and a “Crush” closer. Tim would also embark on his signature solo excursions on “A Tangled Web We Weave” and “Manfood.” Dave and Tim returned to encore with “Corn Bread” and “Two Step.”
