Dopapod Releases ‘Grow’ Single

65

Dopapod gave live staple “Grow” the studio treatment. The latest single from the palindrome-loving quartet came along with an animated video for the track.

“Grow” was debuted live by Dopapod back in 2014 as per Phantasy Tour. “The song could be about a character time traveling back to the Big Bang,” explained Dopapod keyboardist and vocalist Eli Winderman. “Grow” features the lyric “Big things have small beginnings,” a tribute to the line “Microscopic particles are the start of life. This is how we evolve,” from Ridley Scott’s 2012 film Prometheus.

Winderman is joined in Dopapod by guitarist Rob Compa, bassist Chuck Jones and drummer Neal “Fro” Evans. “Grow” comes on the heels of “Think,” a single released last fall that marked the band’s first new music since their 2019 studio album, Emit Time.
