Jeremy Ivey continues to preview his upcoming studio album, Invisible Pictures, by sharing the single “Trial By Fire.” The Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s Invisible Pictures LP comes out March 11 on ANTI- Records.
Ivey penned each of the 10 songs featured on his third full-length record including “Keep Me High,” which was co-written with his wife, Margo Price. Jeremy co-produced the follow-up to 2020’s Waiting Out The Storm with Andrija Tokic. The LP documents a turbulent time in Ivey’s life that saw him make it through a severe case of COVID-19 and was forced off the road by the pandemic.
“Trial By Fire” was inspired by Price’s journey over the same difficult time period. “My wife Margo is always one of my main muses because she’s my best friend and the person I spend most of my time with,” Ivey explained. “She was going through a low point deciding to cut alcohol out of her life and feeling like she would lose friends and that even I would think less of her. We sat around the fire pit at our house one night and talked it out. The next morning I wrote this song. It came out so fast, I thought I had stolen it. The simple message is that all a person needs to be in this world is themselves.”
Jeremy Ivey sings and plays guitar on “Trial By Fire.” He’s accompanied on the track by pianist Micah Hulscher with Billy Contreras providing strings. Ivey put together the collage found in the lyric video for the song himself.
