LeBron James wants his Lakers and the Dodgers to join the Super Bowl-winning Rams in a parade celebrating L.A.’s three recent championship teams.
The day after the Rams won the Lombardi Trophy, James tweeted, ” We, Dodgers and Rams should all do a joint parade together!!!! With a live concert afterwards to end it!! City of Champions. Congrats [Rams] once again!!!”
The Lakers and Dodgers won national NBA and MLB titles back in 2020, but were unable to celebrate with a parade due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Rams’ parade is slated for February 16, when the Lakers are scheduled to play the Utah Jazz. But James’ pitch would be possible if the parade was pushed back to February 17.
But a successful parade requires a pumped-up crowd, and some fans aren’t sold. The Dodgers and Lakers’ championships are two-year-old news, as the most recent, 2021 NBA and MLB champions are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Braves.
The latest odds from MaximBet list the Lakers as the eighth (+2200) most likely to win the NBA championship, with the top three teams being the Phoenix Suns (+425), Brooklyn Nets (+500) and Milwaukee Bucks (+550).
