Midnight North Members Join Twiddle In Portland

75

Twiddle stopped by the State Theater in Portland, Maine on Friday night. The Vermont-based band welcomed members of openers Midnight North for a Tom Petty classic and also fit in an original debut.

Twiddle — including Kung Fu and Marble Eyes drummer Adrian Tramontano filling in for Brock Jordan — got the show underway with a trio of staples beginning with “Blunderbuss” and continuing with “Every Soul” and “Doinkinbonk!!!” The quartet then covered The Cranberries’ “Zombie” ahead of classic, “Frankenfoote.” To close out the first set, Twiddle welcomed Midnight North’s Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck to help out on Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.” Twiddle frontman and guitarist Mihali Savoulidis led the group through the tune with Grahame and Elliott joining him in harmony on the iconic chorus and Grahame providing the equally iconic guitar riff.

Twiddle kicked off the second frame with the live debut of their recently released single, “The Devil.” Staples “Amydst the Myst” and “Mamunes the Faun” followed ahead of “Collective Pulse.” Recently debuted tune “Breakadidown” came next ahead of the favorite “Jamflowman.” “When it Rains it Pours” brought the second set to a close. Twiddle returned for a choice encore of the Talking Heads “Burning Down The House” to seal the evening.
