Midnight Oil fans are gearing up to see the iconic Australian rock group tour for the final time this month, supporting their forthcoming album Resist.
This week, a slew of epic Australian artists have been announced as support acts at various points on the national run. Everyone from the Hoodoo Gurus to Goanna; Jack River to William Crighton; Amyl and the Sniffers to Emily Wurramara are getting on board for this momentous tour.
While Midnight Oil have enjoyed a return to live performances and new music in recent years, Resist and its accompanying tour cycle is reported to be the last for the Oils. Through their press reps though, the band’s remained steadfast in promising fans that this doesn’t mean the end of the band; they remain ‘open’ to working together in the future.

When it comes to where you can be seeing these talented artists opening for the Oils, let’s break it down.
Country-rock artist (and one of the best voices you’ll hear) William Crighton will be opening things up in Newy and Wollongong this February. Busby Marou and Emily Wurramara will be your opening acts for the Oils show in Orange. New South Wales, as well as in Darwin down the line in April.
Speaking of Busby Marou, the duo will be supporting Midnight Oil in Brisbane, with Wurramara also set to perform alongside Jack River as Oils supports in Canberra in April. Jack River will perform two other support shows, taking place in Adelaide and on the Sunny Coast.
The Sunshine Coast also welcomes fellow Aussie rock icons Goanna to the lineup, as will the tour stop in Geelong, where they join All Our Exes Live In Texas and Stephen Pigram. And for All Our Exes Live In Texas, they’ll also be performing at the Oils’ Rutherglen winery show with the Hoodoo Gurus.
Elsewhere on the tour bill, Amyl and the Sniffers will open for Midnight Oil in Melbourne, while 2021 breakthrough artists King Stingray will appear at Cairns and Sydney dates.
Tickets for all shows are still on sale and are available through the official Midnight Oil website.
