Following a weather-induced delay, The Wood Brothers made their postponed appearance at Portland, ME’s State Theatre on Tuesday. The show originally scheduled for January 29th was pushed due to adverse conditions.
The show opened with support from Steve Poltz, who recently came off the bench after testing positive for COVID late last month. The effervescent singer-songwriter is currently gearing up for the release of his 14th album, Stardust & Satellites, produced by Oliver Wood and Jano Rix.

At long last, The Wood Brothers took the stage on Tuesday with “Wastin’ My Mind”. The show saw the trio comprised of picking, singing brothers Oliver and Chris Wood alongside multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix offer a healthy dose of material from the band’s 2020 album, Kingdom In My Mind. Takes on “Alabaster” and “Don’t Think About My Death” peppered the setlist ahead of the closing “Little Bit Broken”. Returning for the encore, the band performed one more Kingdom In My Mind track with “Satisfied” before delivering the finale of “Happiness Jones”.
