Tedeschi Trucks Band selected highlights from their seven-show run at The Beacon Theatre in New York City last fall for Best Of The Beacon 2021. The nine-track collection is available for purchase as a digital download exclusively via nugs.net and for streaming by nugs.net subscribers. Additionally, members of the TTB’s Swamp Family fan club can download the set for free along with two additional tracks unavailable elsewhere.
2021 marked the return of the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s traditional fall residency at the historic venue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The full 12-piece band played seven nights at The Beacon and welcomed a number of guests over the course of the run. Last year was the group’s 10th residency at the venue with the tradition started in 2011. The Tedeschi Trucks Band has performed 46 total shows at The Beacon Theatre over the last 11 years.
Among the tracks included on Best Of The Beacon 2021 are “Whiskey Legs” from October 9, the pairing of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” and Neil Young’s “Helpless” from October 8, “Hear Me” from October 6, an +18-minute “Afro Blue”/”Shame” sequence from October 5 and “Gin House Blues” from September 30. The set also features an exploratory “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” performed with special guest and Derek Trucks‘ longtime The Allman Brothers Band mate Warren Haynes.
In other TTB news, the band confirmed they “will be releasing some new studio material this year.” More details are expected “in the next few months.” Additionally, the group’s Wheels Of Soul 2022 West Coast dates will be revealed soon.
