Tibet House US Expands Lineup For 2022 Virtual Benefit Concert

Paul Simon, Cyndi Lauper and Stephen Colbert are among additions to the Tibet House US 2022 Virtual Benefit Concert lineup. The livestream broadcast presented by Mandolin will air on March 3 starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Jesse Paris Smith and Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra have also joined the lineup for the 35th annual event. Curated by and featuring Philip Glass, the lineup already included Keanu Reeves, Trey Anastasio, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Nathaniel Rateliff, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Angélique Kidjo, Margo Price, Punch Brothers, The Fiery Furnaces, Tenzin Choegyal, Rubin Kodheli and The Scorchio Quartet. Paul Simon, Iggy Pop, Stephen Colbert and Bernard Sumner will provide special greetings.

While usually held at New York City’s Carnegie Hall, 2022 will be the second year in a row the concert is broadcast as a livestream special. All proceeds from the event will go towards Tibet House US, “a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy founded in 1987 at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to ensure the survival of the unique Tibetan civilization.”
