David Byrne brought his American Utopia to CBS Mornings’ Saturday Sessions. The Talking Heads frontman and his ensemble performed songs from the Broadway show and Byrne sat down for an interview as well.
David Byrne’s American Utopia recently announced its final run on Broadway at the St. James Theatre. For the interview with CBS, Byrne talked about bringing the tour around his critically acclaimed 2018 album American Utopia to Broadway and more.
For the performance, Byrne and his American Utopia ensemble delivered a mini show of sorts with a mix of Talking Heads and Byrne solo material including Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” from the band’s landmark 1983 album Speaking In Tongues. Byrne and company also offered “Marching Through The Wilderness” from his 1989 solo album Rei Momo and “Everybody’s Coming To My House” from American Utopia.
