Gov’t Mule will be joined by guitarist Jimmy Vivino (Conan/Fab Faux) and drummer Jay Lane (Bob Weir & Wolf Bros/RatDog) for the first four shows of their upcoming spring tour. Additionally, the band confirmed Jake Shimabukuro will open for spring stops in Little Rock on April 22 and St. Louis on April 23.

The quartet consisting of guitarist Warren Haynes, drummer Matt Abts, bassist Jorgen Carlsson and multi-instrumentalist Danny Louis will kick off the tour in Syracuse on April 6. Vivino and Lane will be Mule’s special guests in Syracuse as well as for stops in Albany on April 7 and New York City on April 8 and 9.

Gov’t Mule second night at New York City’s Beacon Theatre will feature the theme “Black n’ Blue” as their rescheduled New Year’s Eve concert. “Without giving away too much, its worth mentioning that the guesses we’ve heard that it will be a of a set of the blues or the Heavy Load Blues album, were off the mark (not that there is anything wrong with either),” wrote the band in a statement regarding their concert on Saturday, April 9. “Needless to say, we’re really excited to to have Jay and Jimmy out with us.”
