Neil Young looks to his 1980’s output for Official Release Series Volume 4 (ORS Vol 4), a box set to be released on vinyl and CD via Reprise Records on April 29. Young previewed the set by sharing “Cocaine Eyes,” a track from his Eldorado EP, previously issued only in Japan and Australia.
ORS Vol 4 contains the country and folk-heavy 1980 LP Hawks & Doves, the rock-oriented 1981 album Re•ac•tor featuring Crazy Horse, 1988’s bluesy This Note’s For You and the aforementioned Eldorado EP. Neil Young teamed with The Restless consisting of bassist Rick Rosas and drummer Chad Cromwell for Eldorado. The five-song EP includes “Cocaine Eyes” and “Heavy Love,” a pair of tracks unavailable on any other Neil Young releases.
The forthcoming box set will be available for pre-order later today at Young’s The Greedy Hand Store website. Additionally, the CD box set will be sold through all retailers with the vinyl coming to select independent record stores. Those who purchase ORS Vol 4 at The Greedy Hand Store will receive free hi-res digital audio downloads.
