Umphrey’s McGee released pro-shot video featuring “Hurt Bird Bath” from their concert in Asheville, North Carolina on February 26. The +17-minute version led off the group’s second set on the second and final night of last month’s run at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena.
“Hurt Bird Bath” dates back to 2001 and has been performed by UM 469 times as per All Things Umphrey’s. The Asheville take featured impressive interplay between guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger throughout. A pair of diverse jams are broken up by keyboardist Joel Cummins‘ synth solo. The night ended with bassist Ryan Stasik‘s Doom Flamingo bandmate Kanika Moore joining the band on vocals for Paul McCartney’s “Live And Let Die.”

Speaking of “Hurt Bird Bath,” the song is examined in the premiere episode of new podcast The Umphreys “Wow” Show.
