Wiz Khalifa, Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA and Girl Talk (Gregg Gillis) dropped the new single “How The Story Goes” today. The track featuring Gillis, Khalifa and Big K.R.I.T. appears on the musicians’ forthcoming collaborative album, Full Court Press.
Full Court Press, the first Girl Talk album since 2010’s All Day, arrives on April 8 via Asylum/Taylor Gang. Gillis produced the record and is featured on all 10 tracks in various pairings with his collaborators. Each of the four musicians contributed to the LP’s previously released lead single, “Put You On.”
“How The Story Goes” comes as Gregg Gillis prepares to return to the road later this month for his first Girl Talk tour in nearly a decade. Gillis shared the following regarding the new single:
“Wiz recorded his verse first. I thought the beat was a slightly different vibe than normal for him, but once he got in the booth, it felt like a natural fit. K.R.I.T came in and built the rest of the song around that verse. He was able to capture the feel of the sample and take it somewhere new. This turned into one of the songs that I ended up going back to the most.”
