Yola Shares ‘Diamond Studded Shoes – Reimagined’ Single

Yola gave her song “Diamond Studded Shoes” a fresh arrangement for the new single “Diamond Studded Shoes – Reimagined.” The original version appears on the British musician’s 2021 sophomore studio album, Stand For Myself.

Yola’s “Diamond Studded Shoes – Reimagined” incorporates a synth line akin to “1999” by Prince. The current Nashville resident was joined by her band at the Easy Eye Sound facility to lay down the new version. Yola is up for two awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards Show which will be held in Las Vegas on April 3. “Diamond Studded Shoes” was nominated in the Best American Roots Song category while Stand For Myself is up for the Best Americana Album award.

Last night, Yola kicked off an extensive tour in support of Stand For Myself with the first of two hometown shows at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Allison Russell opened and then joined Yola to duet on the Aretha Franklin classic “Day Dreaming.”
