Jack White Debuts ‘Hi-De-Ho’ Near Montreal

Jack White’s Supply Chain Issues Tour 2022 made a foray into Canada on Saturday at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec near Montreal. White would deliver a live debut of “Hi-De-Ho” off his new album Fear Of The Dawn and also busted out The Raconteurs favorite “Carolina Drama.”

Jack kicked off the concert with Fear Of The Dawn lead single “Taking Me Back” ahead of the title track and the album’s “The White Raven.” The first part of the main set also saw White delivering a number of White Stripes songs including “Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground,” and “A Martyr For My Love For You” along with solo staples like “Love Interruption” and “Over And Over And Over.”

Following the latter, White performed Fear Of The Dawn’s “Hi-De-Ho” for the first time. Jack released “Hi-De-Ho” featuring A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip as a Fear Of The Dawn single in early March. The tail end of the main set also boasted “We’re Going To Be Friends” from The White Stripes catalog followed by “Love Is Selfish” along with a cover of U2’s “Love Is Blindness” before returning to Stripes material with “I’m Slowly Turning Into You” to close the main set.

The six-song encore got underway with solo cut “Sixteen Saltines” followed by a pair of Stripes tunes “My Doorbell” and “Fell In Love With A Girl.” After “Freedom At 21,” Jack delivered the Racnonteurs murder ballad, “Carolina Drama,” which was last played at a Jack White solo concert on November 19, 2018 in Chicago, as per SetlistFM. Classic closer “Seven Nation Army” capped off the evening.
