The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger today released “Strange Game,” a new solo single, via Polydor Records / Universal Music. The song is the theme tune for the new Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.
Jagger collaborated with film composer Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) to write and record “Strange Game.” The brooding, Tom Waits-esque song arrived with a lyric video featuring scenes from Slow Horses.
“Working with Mick Jagger has been one of the most exciting collaborations of my professional career,” explained Pemberton in a statement. “I think we have managed to create an incredibly unique and original titles theme and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to hear it.”
Starring Gary Oldman and based on a series of books penned by Mick Herron, Slow Horses tracks a series of British spies who are on the downside of their careers. The first two episodes of the series premiered today on Apple TV+. Four additional installments will follow in the coming weeks.
Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones will hit the road in June and July for a European Tour celebrating the band’s 60th anniversary. Watch the “Strange Game” lyric video below:
