The Disco Biscuits “Evolve” With Latest Single, Second In 10 Years [Listen]

55

The Disco Biscuits returned on Friday with “Evolve”, which serves as the band’s second new release since 2011. The song will join last month’s “Lake Shore Drive” on a yet-untitled Disco Biscuits album out this summer.

Written by keyboardist Aron Magner and birthed from a Tractorbeam jam, “Evolve” cuts to the heart of the untz by dropping straight into a futuristic trance. The single locks the band—comprised of Magner, Jon “Barber” Gutwillig (guitar/vocals), Marc Brownstein (bass/vocals), and Allen Aucoin (drums)—into a groove that rides out for the song’s nearly six-minute runtime. The band debuted “Evolve” at last year’s City Bisco event in Philadelphia, PA on July 21st and has played it 13 times total, per Phantasy Tour.

The trancefusion pioneers have pledged to share one single every month leading up to the release of their first new album since Otherwise Law Abiding Citizens. This weekend’s two-night run at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom on Friday and Saturday will serve as “Evolve” launch celebration parties. The band is offering livestream options for the weekend shows.
