Singer-songwriter Scott Ferber of The Jauntee will release his debut solo album, Mine, Yours & Ours, on June 17. JamBase is pleased to exclusively premiere the video for the LP’s lead single, “Best Of Me.”
Ferber has been behind the kit for the past 12 years as The Jauntee’s drummer since the band formed in New England. Now based in Colorado with the rest of the group, the multi-instrumentalist shows off a different side of his musicality on the 10-track Mine, Yours & Ours. The Berklee College of Music graduate tapped bandmates Caton Sollenberger (bass/guitar) and Tyler Adams to contribute to select songs on the record.
“I’ve put a tremendous amount of care and love into this album,” Ferber said about stepping front and center to display his songwriting prowess. “The songs are personal, yet relatable, and the feelings are real.”
Scott Ferber shared the following regarding “Best Of Me”:
“I think ‘Best of Me’ reflects a bit of my own personality in song form. It’s light hearted, it’s silly, and it’s familiar in a comforting way. It’s the type of song that should have a dance to it, like the ‘Macarena.’ I hope it makes people smile and want to sing along. Musically, it’s sort of a nod to Paul Simon and David Byrne. They both could say so much in so little words and were able to make you think and dance simultaneously. While I surely don’t possess the genius of those two – The lyrics to ‘Best of Me’ are a grab bag of my own kooky thoughts wrapped neatly into eloquent nonsense. Brilliant, poetic, mumbo jumbo, if I may. It’s just a plain, good ol’ fashion fun tune.”
