SiriusXM shared video of Lucius performing a song from Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Dottie West. The band led by Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig taught “A Lesson In Leavin’” for their SiriusXMU session.
Originally written by Randy Goodrum and Brent Maher, Dottie West made the first recording of “A Lesson In Leavin’” and included the song on her 1979 album, Special Delivery, with the single hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Country Chart in 1980 giving West her first solo chart-topper after a string of hit duets with Kenny Rogers. Sadly, West died in 1991 from complications she suffered in a tragic car crash.
Lucius has been making the media rounds in support of their new album, Second Nature, recently performing on Ellen. For their SirusXm performance, Jess and Holly fronted their band on the Dottie West hit.
