Andy Falco To Miss Infamous Stringdusters Tour Dates Due To Family Emergency, Jon Stickley To Fill In

37

The Infamous Stringdusters guitarist Andy Falco will miss the band’s upcoming May tour dates as he attends to an urgent family medical emergency. Guitarist Jon Stickley has been tapped to sub in while Falco is away.

As Falco and the band explained in a statement posted to social media on Sunday,

As many of you might know, my wife Jasmine recently gave birth to our beautiful son Teddy. After a little over a week at home, we realized he was having issues holding down his food, and a visit to the pediatrician sent us immediately to the emergency room.

It was determined that surgery was necessary to correct the issue, which they performed successfully. Giving a 13-day old newborn abdominal surgery is very precarious, and we will be living in the hospital with him for at least the next several weeks as he recovers. While we’re not out of the woods yet, it’s expected he will eventually recover, return home and get back to normal life.

Needless to say, I have to stay here to take care of my son and my family in this difficult time. While I will be missing all of the May shows, the more-than-capable, and one of my very favorite guitar players, Jon Stickley will be filling my role while I’m gone. I couldn’t think of a better fit to sub in, and look forward to returning as soon as Teddy gets better.

Thank you for understanding. With love, Andy Falco.

The Infamous Stringdusters are due to play a three-night run of shows in Round Hill, VA on May 20th, 21st, and 22nd before heading to Morrison, CO for a headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with The California Honeydrops and Karina Rykman on Thursday, May 26th. The band will round out the month with two nights at Geneva, MN’s Revival Music Festival (5/27, 5/28) and Chillicothe, IL’s Summer Camp Music Festival (5/29). Our thoughts are with Andy, Teddy, and the whole Falco/Stringdusters family. We look forward to seeing you out there happy and healthy soon.
